Our Services

Providing specialized services to East Central Albertans impacted by sexual violence since 1990.

In the late 1980s, a group of people from East Central Alberta began talking about the significant number of child sexual abuse cases they were seeing and the lack of services available. This led to the formation of a community-based board representing all of East Central Alberta. In 1987 the scope of child sexual violence was extended to include emotional and physical abuse, and the Association of Communities Against Abuse was created. Later services such as education, support, groups and justice navigation were added. We continue to provide treatment, support, and education across East Central Alberta, to the communities of Stettler, Camrose, Drumheller, Hanna, Oyen, Tofield and surrounding areas.

Treatment & Support

We provides long-term specialized counselling through a unique rural model, allowing individuals to access treatment close to home.

Training & Education

ACAA’s evidence-based education programs teach individuals and communities how to recognize the impact of sexual violence and the steps needed to create safe environments for all.

Advocacy & Resources

From social media recommendations to Survival Guides, we have supports for kids, parents, teachers, and survivors.
